My name is Keith Carrara and I am 4th year electrical engineering technology student at Vermont State University Randolph, Eagle Scout in Scouting America, and electrical engineering intern at VELCO. I have been involved in student government (congressional clerk, President) and clubs such as Nerf Club (founder, president, inter-campus coordinator), Manufacturing Club (treasurer), WVTC (secretary, treasurer), Robotics Club (secretary), and others in addition to my academics.
Within Scouts my main interests have been wilderness survival, leadership, and program operations. Over the years I have taken a range of merit badges and trainings to support my wilderness survival interest, with my favorites being Wilderness Survival merit badge, Okpik cold weather camping training, and Wilderness First Aid trainings (1st by American Red Cross and 2nd by SOLO).
Outside of organizations my hobbies all connect to my interest in engineering design, particularly the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software. Because of this I have been learning a range of languages starting with C++ since I was 13 years old and a majority of the video games I enjoy playing have some relation back to the engineering concepts. Examples of video games I am interested in are Stormworks: Build & Rescue where I have applied concepts from fluid dynamics and control systems classes, and Space Engineers where I have been more on the creative side of design but have also created more functional systems like backup power control for a base I was working on with some friends.
This website serves as my portfolio, I have recently started it but will continue to update it with past, current, and future projects as time goes on. Additional content I intend to add includes more information on my personal background and work experience.
If anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions or would like to connect, I can be reached by email or LinkedIn below. I am open to connecting over phone after connecting by one of these two methods.
